Question Impossible to ADSL connect trough Ericsson hm220dp (not USB) on Mandrake 10

Greetings everyone!

After two frustrating weeks seeking for answers in our guru (google :P), I've decided to post my problem here to see if anyone can help me out.

Two weeks ago I installed Mandrake 10 (Running Kernel 2.6.3). Everything went fine: no errors, no boot "beeps", everything working really fine and fast, BUT a little problem came up: I Just can't connect on the Internet!

After configuring everything trough adsl-setup, I used to just type "adsl-start" and, after some Time Outs, the link would be up and I would be able to live happyly (This used to happen on Slackware 9.2).

If I tried to connect using a shell script on Kurumin (a Wolderfull Bootable Brazilian Distro), the connection would be up in a few secconds - just bealtifull *and, I hate to say this but, just like in Windows.

Now that I've installed Mandrake 10 I'm unable to connect either way and that's - guess what - pissing me off badly! I must leave my computer up almost the hole day and, since I can't connect on linux anymore, I'm obligated to use this slow WinXP PRO - and, belive me, the connection here goes up really fast and at the first try.

Does anyone have an idea of what may be happening and how do I connect? heh.

These are my computer setting to see if it helps: (I don't think that some info will help, but I'll type in anyway just to make sure ^^)

ASUS A7V8X-X (sound/lan)
Ethernet Adapter (for connection sharing)
AMD AthlonXP 2400+ (256k)
512MB DDR333
GeForce4 MX440 128
Modem: Ericsson hm220dp

By the way, Mandrake10 is installed in a 10Gb HD setted up as Primary Slave.

I thank you all in advance. Even though I dunno if you'll be able to help, lots of topic here enlightend me when I had lots of newbie's doubts (not that this one ain't another, heh).

Also, I'd like to apologise for any error in my coerence or grammar, English is not my native language.

Best regards,

c0de

Hello there back again!

I'm just writting here to tell you that I've just fixed the problem.
Somehow, my ethernet either was damaged or not supported, I've just switched it with and older Ethernet Adapter and it is working now (I still don't get why the problem, but it is solved and that's what matters ^^)

I thank you all that read my topic (even though I got no replys) and apologise for posting something withou even trying something I was able to do.

Best regards,

c0de
