tcaptain: your right and for the most part 9.1 works great for me. to be honest the only reason i was going to upgrade my laptop is because it came out around the same time i was having problems with swsusp (no keyboard or mouse on restore) and i figured before i try to find a solution i might as well upgrade and see if 9.2 has an updated swsusp already. not exactly a good reason to upgrade i know so now i will see if i can figure it out with 9.1

i really am a big fan of mdk though, aside from corel linux they have the nicest initial setup.

Actually I would have said that your reason to upgrade was an excellent one...its just sad that 9.2 didn't solve the problem.

I would try to solve it in 9.2 tho instead of backtracking...but that's me...and you have to weigh that against the other problems you are having (which may have simple solutions for all I know)
