IBM Wireless Card

Just installed LE2005 and compared to Linspire Mandriva rocks.

Everything so far looks good, other then my wireles card. I can't add a new connection under the control center, but the card itself looks fine and dandy in the hardware manager.

The card is:

dentification
Vendor: ‎Atheros Communications Inc.

Description: ‎AR5211 802.11a/b/g Mini-PCI Wireless Adapter

Media class: ‎NETWORK_ETHERNET

Connection
Bus: ‎PCI

Bus PCI #: ‎2

PCI device #: ‎2

PCI function #: ‎0

Vendor ID: ‎5772

Device ID: ‎18

Sub vendor ID: ‎6059

Sub device ID: ‎33552

Misc
Module: ‎ath_pci

Suggestions?

I would think if the Control Center sees the card then I would be able to configure a new wireless network.

thanks

Have you tried going to Mandriva Control Center? Since your wireless card is recognized, we need to configure it.

Go to Mandriva control center.
Hardware
Select your Wireless card (eth0? eth1?)
RUN CONFIG TOOL

After that, go back to the Mandriva COntrol Center
Network
Add new network
Add wireless
choose your wireless card (eth0? eth1?)
insert all the network stuff like DHCP, IP, gateway, etc...

To work with your wireless network settings, go to Mandriva Control Center (one-stop shop! lol)
Network
Wireless connections
You will be able to see all your available wireless networks. YOu can select which ones you want to connect to and enter their WEP keys and all the good stuff.

Does this help?
