Installed Mageia yesterday but printer, referenced in subject line, does not work. Research has revealed that package "hplip-3.11.7" needs to be installed but can't be due to a "python" problem. I downloaded the package from HP, un-tarred it, and attempted to install using the command line but that revealed that many dependencies were missing. Also, Mageia wasn't listed as one of the choices in the list of distros so I chose Mandriva 2010 but was told that it was not supported. I have posted this topic in the Mageia Forum but haven't received a response. I need to use my printer. Please help if you can. Thank you.

Thank you glue for your assistance. The problem was solved by installing repositories and configuring printer via Mageia Control Center. I received that instruction via the Mageia forum. I appreciate your help and I'm sure the link you provided will help me in the future.
