Does vmware run windows xp faster than win4lin? and about how much faster?
I have not done any thorough tests so I cannot tell you if it runs faster or not. I mainly installed vmware workstation on my linux box so tha tI can tests other distros without bolwing up the system.

I'm right now for example testing ubuntu and windows vista (I kow... I need more memory).

Kernel Headers in Mandriva

I found the kernel headers needed to install vmware 5 on Mandriva LE 2005 by doing a:

urpmi kernel-source-2.6-2.6.11-12mdk.i586

I am running the 2.6.11-12mdk kernel. I tried running the "make mrproper" but all did was delete the version.h file. So don't run any make commands. After installing the kernel-source package you can run "vmware-config.pl" and it should be able to build the modules.

im having alsorts of problems configuring vmware, first i was getting the problem "
coasterfreak212" had where i didnt have the corect c header files for my kernal, so i tryied a few things seggested, but know im getting a fundementally odder error :

What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include] /usr/src/linux/include/

The path "/usr/src/linux/include" is an existing directory, but it does not
contain at least one of these directories "linux", "asm", "net" as expected.

and just to show i've not tottly destroyied my src files:

[root@so-2091-x0 include]# pwd
/usr/src/linux/include
[root@so-2091-x0 include]# ls
acpi/ asm-ia64/ asm-sparc64/ math-emu/ pcmcia/ sound/
asm-alpha/ asm-m68k/ asm-um/ media/ rsbac/ video/
asm-generic/ asm-ppc/ asm-x86_64/ mtd/ rxrpc/
asm-i386/ asm-sparc/ linux/ net/ scsi/
[root@so-2091-x0 include]#

as you can see i have the correct directoryies, i just dnt get it??

as this haddnt worked i tryied upgrading my version using an update from "http://ftp.cvut.cz/vmware/" but alas that made no diffrence, im stuck has ne1 got ne ideas?
