hda: lost interrupt on install
Im am trying to install mandrake 10 on an ecs built laptop. when i try to install, it gives me an hda: lost interrupt error. by dump luck, i found that it will actually get beyond this, but it keeps popping up and therefore takes about 6 hours to install, and then the same thing happens trying to run mandrake. i heaerd that this is sometimes caused by unsupported acpi, so i tried passing acpi=off during install, but that didnt help. i checked the supported hardware list, and i didnt see anything that would be a problem.
i had the same problem in 9.0
i am currently running an ecs built laptop (p4 3.06GHz, 1 GB RAM, ATI Radeon 9000, AC97 Sound) Everything else is pretty much SiS. also, it gives me a message just before the error that says SiS: not 100% native, will probe IRQs later. is it possible that mandrake doesnt like which irq my HD is using? not sure i can do anything about that if thats the problem. I also upgrade my phoenixBIOS, but there was nothing in the change tables that indicated anything that would be related. I got 43 views but no responses in the newbie forum, so hopefully i could get some help here.
any info appreciated...
