Ok I don't think I've seen this mentioned anywhere. When I installed the newest Free Version of Mandriva I told it to install KDE and GNOME and GNOME just isn't available. I can't select it from the menu at the login screen or anything. GNOME programs are available but not the environment. And what is the deal with the gnome desktop manager? Did GNOME just decide not to use it anymore or what? Or is there just a bug in the newest version of Mandriva where GNOME just doesn't install right or isn't configured right? Does anybody know anything about this???

Well you are using an early beta version of the software. Are you sure you're running the latest beta (I think its up to 3 now)? Are you even sure you want to be running a beta version - unless you intend on testing it and filing bug reports as you find broken stuff then run a full release version like 2005LE, or just wait until 2006 is out.

Yeah I realize things are going to be unstable when it comes to beta releases, but (for example) a lot of things have been working better for me on my laptop since I started trying out the Mandriva betas. So yeah I'll probably go back to 2005LE. I get caught up in the EXCITEMENT of a new release...cause linux is awesome! Anyway... and yeah I am running the most recent beta (the most recent beta is 2006.0 (or Beta 3)). Thanks for the reply. =)
