Well, after years of shutting down browsers & music/movie players then restarting browsers in order to get sound in Flash I've finally sussed it! How pleased am I!
Here's how...
1) I downloaded & unpacked Flash 9 beta from
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9.html.
(Seemed like a good place to start!)
2) Changed ownership of /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox-1.5.*/plugins from root to me (chown is my new favourite thing!)
3) Copied libflashplayer.so from unpacked flash-player-plugin-9.0.* folder into newly accessible /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox,,, folder
4) Uninstalled Flashplayer 7.0.whatever.rpm with the handy MCC (don't know how necessary this is, but it seemed like the sensible thing to do!)
5) Restarted Firefox & Amarok.
Voila! Sound in both, simultaneously & everything! And absolutely nothing wrong with Flash 9 at all so far - if this is a beta then the release could almost be worth being left behind for so long...
