Firefox wont open in Mandriva after running update
I have researched this topic and have found no solutions that work. Firefox was running great last night, got an update notice for firefox, ran update this morning, and now it will not open.
Tried to uninstall and reinstall and still does not work.
When I run in Konsole I get this message "Couldn't load XPCOM" thus far I have found no solutions that seem to fix my problem.
I am running Mandriva Spring 2009 Powerpack.
Today is Septemeber 23, 2009, Wednesday 8:48am Central Standard Time.
The thread you mentioned above is a 2008 thread. Though I am sure its related in some way or fashion, my problem remains unresolved. A few years ago I recall something similar happening.
I am hopeful its some sort of bug conflict that I hope gets fixed in a more current update.
No Problem Glenn, but here's what I noticed with the newer version of Firefox version 3.5.3 (64bit) (or whatever number that is) does not work right with Java when trying to open a sabre apellet window. Not sure if symlink gets broken or not. I had to go back and uninstall the newest version of Firefox and rainstall version 3.0.14.(64 bit)
