Find File broken, need search utility, where does WineX install, KDE file roller?

Three basic questions. I am running Mandrake 10 official.

1). My file finder utility in KDE does not work. It freezes up most of the time I try to use it even when I am just browsing /home/user for a file :P Is there another utility I can use, hopefully one on the Mandrake package CDs.

2). Anyone who has used WineX 4.0 or cedega, where does the RPM install it? I checked the install instruction and notes and it does not tell you where it creates the directory. Kind of hard to load a game into the directory when I have no idea where it is.

3). What is KDE's equivalent of file roller. I installed file roller to unzip files. But I would like to install KDE's version so it is integrated into the desktop so I dont have to "fire up" file roller and then point it to the archieve.

Thanks

afaik Winex is installed in you /home directory...but it is a 'hidden folder' so you have to 'show all files' to see it...

You can use a console search tool....become root and issue 'updatedb' wait for the database to build and the try something like
whereis (filename)

I think the rpm of winex installs in the bowels on /usr/bin somewhere, but it doesn't matter. You can still install stuff with the usual cedega /mnt/cdrom/setup,exe or whatever... You might need to edit the wine setup wherever that is... But sure, the windows fake drive will probably be in /home/user somewhere...

I don't know, I took the easy way this time and use point2play

Thanks for the replies. Sure enough, when I went to install D2 suddently transgaming appeared in my home\user folder :P

Yes console searches are possible but a pain if you dont remember all the right syntax. So I would much rather have a gui search tool. Any suggestions? For KDE 3.2 that is. And what is the pesky archieve utility for KDE called. In one install I had it. But this time I dont. I must have not checked the appropriate box that contained that utility :P I would sure like to install it, using file roller is bad but it is not as convenient as it being integrated into your panels.
