executing programs with arguments ?

I need some help dont seem to be able to find info on changing directorites and the like in the console view....
this gets a little confusing... I was told to run sambapasswd -a to add a user and password to the list I found the folder it was in which was a mission in itself for me as it gets confusing being a windows user as so much is hidden. opened up the console but dont seem to be able to navigate to that folder so I can run the program with the arguments... I am very familiar with DOS from donkies years ago.... there must be a list of how to use this somewhere with all the commands and the like

cheers

Hello, you've just have to type the command
' cd /the/directory/where/it/is/ '

What's the directory you have to enter in ?
Is it an hidden one (starting with a ., for exemple .hidden) ?

There is no dot at the end of bin.

Try the following on the XP machine. In a DOS prompt box:
net view

Have you tried the XP find computer?

Are the workgroups the same on both computers?
