bt878 hard times:( help plz!

I have Mandrake Linux 9.1 (Bamboo) installed on my PC. It is:
GA-7VAX KT400 mobo
AMD AthlonXP 1700+ @1900+ Thoroughbread 0.13n
256 Kingmax DDR
ATI Radeon 7500 PRO (GA) @ 1024x768@75Hz
Samsung SyncMaster 152 S TFT-LCD 15"
bt878 compatible PixelView PlayTVpro 9D with Philips tuner.
I tried runing. I connected NOKIA Mediamaster 9800 S DVB-S tuner with RF to my bt878 and searched for new channels with my v4l gui XawTV. It found the signal and opened the picture. However I am unable to run XawTV with 1024x768 resolution in Overlay mode. I get 1/2 of my screen filled with pucture

In Grabdisplay mode it works in 1024x768 but with poor quality. I did not have such problems with my Win98 in the past, neither with Win2K

Could somebody be so kind and explain me whether it is possible to enlage the image to 1024x768 in Overlay mode with Linux and V4L(1) or support is poor

in your XF86Config file, make sure you have the "v4l" module extension loaded, with this X will be much happier to change mode for v4l outputs

Section "Module"
Load "v4l" # Video for Linux

is there by default. Do I need to do something else to XF86Config-4 to make bt878 use 1024x768.
my v4l-conf gives 1024x768 at 16 bit at 75Hz but picture still not 1024x768 in overlay mode
