If you get errors from the X server, type in

Code:
xorgconfig
and redo the X configuration.

To install the ATI drivers , you will need the driver first. Did you already download it or not? If you did, then then do this as root in the command line:

Code:
rpm -i --force filename.rpm
Be warned that I have read others on here having some slight problems when installing the ATI X.org drivers.

Good luck!

If you are new, and your Linux is working okay, then I urge you NOT to download and install these new ATI drivers. I've read others complain that it caused some problems. But to answer your question, do this:

go here:
http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html

Select Linux x86 --> graphic driver --> then select your ATI Video card.

Select the X.org version since Mandrake 10.1 does not use XFree86

Save it somewhere and go to your console and to the directory and type:

Code:
su
rootpassword
rpm -i --force rpmfilename.rpm
That should install the ATI drivers. But like I said, I would not recommend doing this unless you have to.

Now I see what you're saying. The ATI file is on your Windows hard drive.

do this in the terminal:

Code:
cd /mnt/windows
BAM! That should be your Windows hard drive right there. Give that a try.
