apache maxclients exceed
I am getting a maxclients exceeded apache error. Surely there are thousands of sites larger and busier than min.
Do you know what the max value I can set MaxClients to and still be safe?
The only think I can think of is I have audio clips, up to 1 hour long, if 255 people are listening at once will that cause the error? If so, got any tips on how to do that? I know there are many radio station that have thousands of people listening at once. Would real audio streaming fix that?
Thanks in advance.
Subject: [maxclientscheck] has exceeded the MaxClients limit
Apache has reached the MaxClients
limit. You should edit httpd.conf and change the MaxClients to something
higher. cPanel normally does this for you, however it will not set this
to a number above 255 since this may cause the server to crash/fallover. The
MaxClients setting is currently set at 255
You may wish to suspend the user with the largest access log as they
are generally the person using up all of the avalible connections. However,
your should
have your system admin verify this first.
