after reboot mdr 10.0 wont work

When I'd start mandrake linux 10.0 the first time, everything worked correctly!
But when I start mandrake-linux for the second time it wont work. The program load KDE and stop by the 85%

I've installed my pc 8 times, and still the same error.

Has someone a solution??

Do you boot into runlevel 5 or level3? If 5 then you need to start linux by typing linux 3 at the lilo prompt, so you boot into a level 3 login prompt.

Now you can type startx. While KDE is loading type <Ctrl><Alt>F1> and watch the messages to see where it gets stuck.

When you get the boot menu just hit <Esc> then you will see a boot: prompt and you can type linux 3.

<edit>When it gets stuck you should be able to hit <Ctrl><Alt><Backspace> to get out of it.

Could be the apic problem... I had lots and lots of lock ups because of that. To fix it, use linux noapic nolapic when booting (press esc on the bootloader menu)

You seem to have a problem with framebuffer device. I would suggest you boot into linux 3 then run drakxconf and make sure you have the correct video card/monitor selected.

<edit>There is an ATI Radeon (fbdev) <- dont select this one, try something else.

Copy .kderc file from root's directory and put it in your directory. Chown the .kderc file so you are owner. If that doesn't help you may need to copy the entire /root/.kde directory but that will mess up some of your kde settings.
