adding another internal H.D

i bought another H.D and set it to slave. i am either going to work on LFS cuase i want to start working to LPI cert or as a playground for beta software and programming.
my questions.
1. should i mount this underr /mnt/HDB?
2. can i partition it ext3/swap/ext3 but config lilo to boot it so i doont have to worry about a bootloader.
Code:
image=/boot/vmlinuz
        label="foo"
        root=/dev/hdb1
        initrd=/boot/initrd.img
        append="hdb resume=/dev/hdb5"
i am sure i can wade through this but i would rather be sure.
edit: maybe this should be in hardware, if a mod could toss it over there, thank you

"1. should i mount this underr /mnt/HDB?"

You can mount it on any empty directory, wherever is convenient for you. Set the permissions of the mount poiint before you mount there.

"2. can i partition it ext3/swap/ext3"

Yes.

"but config lilo to boot it so i doont have to worry about a bootloader. "

You can only have one boot loader installed on your MBR. So yes, add an image section for LFS to your /etc/lilo.conf on mandriva.

You can mount it wherever you want it to be and with whatever FS you want as long as long as it is supported by your distro.

Just change your /etc/fstab to reflect the new mount point and fs type.

As for your doubt of lilo I can't understand it.
