acpi..

hi..
i work on Mandrake10.0. on assembled PC. i enabled acpi in MCC-System-services.
& i can see partial ACPI installation on Kcontrol-configure your computer-power control-laptop battery.
my ups doesn't seems to take up charge on powercut situations..is it due to this partial acpi or not.... SO,..
now i want to know that is this partial ACPI is ok with my system (as i've no problem in working) or should i disabled it totally on my system & what's the procedure to do it correctly?

thankx.

APM and ACPI

The laptop battery is not the ups battery.

The laptop needs power-saving, that has a short timer length.

the ups is for when the main house-hold power fails. It will need different settings, you need to hav an ups and I think the bios will need to support it too.
