9.2 tightvnc login problem

hello:

I have read lots of instructions on tunneling vnc through putty and I do think it is set up properly on the windows client.

However, I cannot get it to connect to my 9.2 box.

I have vncserver running on the 9.2 box so I think that there must be a setting or command or something I need to run to let remote connections in.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

try scanning (nmap) your 9.2 machine from your windows machine to see if the vnc ports are open and listening.

Hello:

I solved the problem.....I had to type "vncserver" in the terminal window and I can now connect with vnc. The vncserver was showing as running on the linux box so I am not sure why I had to type the command in but then again, I am a newbie.
