hi,

I have mandriva 2009.01 spring installed but cannot make the wireless(atheros communication inc ar242x 802.11abg wireless pci express adaptar) work. i can see my router name but when i enter the wep key it says: connection failed

when i do it through configure computer i get this message even though i am using dhcpd :

Problems occured during the network connectivity test.

This can be caused by invalid network configuration, or problems with your modem or router.

You might want to relaunch the configuration to verify the connection settings.

any help would be appreciated as i am newbie.

Do you know which driver you are using? Atheros chipset cards can use the open source driver, ath5k, or the closed source madwifi driver. I would guess that mandriva loads the open source ath5k by default. You can try reconfiguring the wireless card to use the madwifi driver instead. You will need to have a wired connection to do so since you will have to download and install the madwifi driver to do that.
