10.1 install issues
Hi,
I'm having two issues. First, I am putting Mandrake 10 on a box that had Fedora core on it. It recognizes my hard drives differently though. I have an 80 GB drive on IDE 3 (my mother board has two additional IDE ports, for hardware raid), and a 20 GB drive on IDE 1 (primary). It recognizes the 20 GB drive as hde and the 80 GB drive as hda. I previously booted off of the 20 GB drive. Will it be ok to install the boot loader on the 20 GB, even though its considered hde instead of hda?
Second question. I tried to install 10.1 with a MS Intellimouse explorer (USB). When the X-based installer was loaded, moving the mouse would make the cursor jump all over the screen. I tried to switch the mouse to a dell scroll mouse (USB also), but when X-based installer came up, the mouse cursor did not move at all. Are there any kernel parameters I should try passing in to make either mouse work right? I tried 'linux proto=IMPS/2', but that didn't seem to make a difference with the MS mouse.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin
