One-click power down

I'm using KDE4.

I need a 1 or 2 click way to power down my system. The keyboard shortcuts for kwin indicate that Ctrl-Alt-Shift-PgDn should do it, but it only works from the login screen.

I have session management set to default power off with no options or confirmation. No matter what I've tried, I always end up at the Login screen.

With previous systems, I have given users permission to execute /sbin/poweroff, however now it is a link to /sbin/systemctl and I'm not about to change permissions on that.

How do I enable the shortcuts that already have been defined?

Thanks
Jim

Just curious, but would it be more feasible to open a terminal, or alt+F2, type "poweroff" and call it good?

Probably.
I had made a false assumption: that poweroff/halt/reboot could only be used by root, as in some other systems.

Thanks.

In the system settings you can change that (if you wish) and also change the action.

Also, by default, a left-click on the screen will give you a drop-down menu. Click on "Leave" and select an action from the pop-up box.

Jim the easiest way to do this on any distro IMHO is to create a clickable shortcut, icon, menu item, etc. that runs the following command in the terminal env as root:
Code:
# init 0
I never use any of the shutdown or reboot commands although they do sometimes have additional funcionality. For my money nothing beats init 6 and init 0!
