After last update, web pages started asking for codecs and plugins
Mageia 3 was great when I first installed it. Everything worked fine. Slowly, problems stated cropping up. The latest is for messages saying I need codecs and plugins. I don't follow the links because I don't care to install things out of the repository, tried it once and paid a price.
The problem could be firefox which was also updated recently.
I tried to open a java based irc chat page and got the plugin notification. Nothing illegal, just an issue somewhere.
All I can say is that I have not encountered this on my machine (Intel x64), which started with mageia v. 2 and has survived online updates to v. 3 and v. 4. I have to say that I normally use Opera and seldom use Firefox.
Have you tried testing in another browser and can you provide some of the problem links?
