Throwing a fit here doesn't do anything toward helping you. Maybe the removal was accidental. Maybe you can reach out to Jeremy to inquire why it was removed. I didn't see that post, but did it have anything to do with Linux, or was it spam? Most good communities try to manage posts, and keep the community related to the theme. Whatever you decide, good luck.

It was "canned" because Paypal is the general source
of fund-raising. There is a new ISR reporting requirement
when charging more than $600.oo on either PP or Vemno, per year.
I was only informing any US donor of this fact, but the censor
decided to protect their Linux Foundation funding machine.
It was no accident and was relevant to Linux users and their
privacy.
We actually have a “moratorium” on “political” threads. FYI.
I’m pretty sure it was your later posts in the thread that brought it past the line. And which made it look like that you really started the thread to talk about something else.

If that is indeed the case, delete the "offending" posts and lockup
the thread, with an explanation. Fairly straight forward.
I don't remember any part of it being relevant to Linux.
I suspect it got removed due to violating the LQ Rules with political hostility and accusations of fraud against a particular group.
This is where the post went !
General (6 Viewing)
This forum is for non-technical general discussion which can include both Linux and non-Linux topics. Have fun!
I am not sure where I found it. Forum rules are not readily found.
""While the main focus of LQ is Linux and Open Source, we realize the community may be interested in discussing non-technical topics. We have a large diverse community and as such we'd like to allow and foster discussion on a variety of subjects. We provide the General forum for just this purpose. Please keep in mind that the main focus of LQ is the discussion of technical topics. We've found that many non-technical topics can be highly subjective and divisive in nature. When participating in the General forum it's imperative that you be respectful at all times. Failure to do so will result in your posting privileges in General being revoked."

Really??? Looking at the right-side there is a clear link that says "LQ Rules".

Rather than get into this with a variety of persons who did not take the action you're expressing concerns about, please use the Contact Us link I've included here, the same which appears at the bottom of all LQ pages, and indicate your concerns to Jeremy. That is how to reach him, or instead use a Private Message.

Please calm down, blueicetwice, and carry forward the resolution privately with the site owners. Who are typically quite reasonable.
We hope that you will find your resolution, and that you will continue to participate and to ask "Linux questions."
Changes to financial reporting rules are merely another step in the ongoing effort to fight financial crimes, which are always becoming more sophisticated. (People are endlessly creative when it comes to the business of ripping other people off.) And, this doesn't mean that every transaction is not already being reported to someone – it's just an official change in what is being flagged for attention.
