Username conflict with LinuxForums

Jeremy, when I first tried to Register for the LinuxQuestions forum, I wanted to use the same Username as I had on LinuxForums, but I was blocked from doing that because "Username already taken". But this is supposed to be a different forum, and I couldn't find it from the LinuxForums page, where I was able to Login. Therefore, I had to assume another identity, and another password, to gain access to view articles I was finding with Google Search that pointed to LinuxQuestions. Furthermore, after I registered, my email had a link to "http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/lq-suggestions-and-feedback-7/", where I expected it would be easy to leave Feedback. It wasn't easy.

We are in no way related to LinuxForums. To participate here you do need to create an LQ account. What issue did you have leaving feedback?

You should be able to view linuxquestions.org posts without logging in.

Well, now I see a single "Post Reply" under two other posting from two different individuals. So I don't know who THIS reply is going to reach. Let me start with "ntubski". When I got to the page from the Google Search, it only listed the title of the search, followed by a block of text saying I had to be a member of LinuxQuestions to see the full post. That's when I tried to Login with my Linux Forum credentials. Now for jeremy". I assumed that would be valid since LinuxQuestions showed "Linux Forum" in its "Main Menu". My Username on Linux Forum was Dickster, but I couldn't login. I couldn't tell if I was blocked by Username, or Password. I tried to Register, and was told "Dickster" was taken. That's when I registered as "Dickster2". As for the Feedback issue, after successfully registering, I got an email that linked me to "http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/lq-suggestions-and-feedback-7/", but I couldn't see anything about HOW to leave FEEDBACK. There was basically only this: PLEASE READ THIS FORUM. There were no other instructions.

It's going to be posted publicly, to the thread, where everyone can see it. It sounds like you participate at other fora and LQ works the same way as most online fora do.

You never have to register to see content at LQ.

"Linux Forum" is a very generic term. When you visit http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...nd-feedback-7/ you should see a large "New Thread" button. Welcome to LQ.

OK, then all I ask is that box that says "READ THIS FORUM" later says "To send Feedback, start a New Thread."
