Thanks Happy-Tux ( Hello N.S. ) & Emerson -- I'll check into what both of you said.
I don't actually have a hardware router set up right now anyways, so nothing's misconfigured here at my end. It's somewhere in N.Y. where I cannot seem to get through. I just want to maybe add something as another backup to my nameservers file, so maybe my machine will take a route like a --> C --> B instead of the usual a --> b .
Update later --P.S. I did another traceroute, and got 3 hops further, to Buffalo, but still didn't quite make it to LQ!
Hey just noticed that I'm up in Amherst where you at that is if you don't mind giving out that kind of info...
I have been noticing that for a little while now! I'm between Stewiacke and Shubenacadie, in the woods, basically: land of the amazing 28.8k dialup.
Oh yeah I know where that is I have a couple of buddies go fishing down that way all the time, that sucks for the speed the lines not good enough down that way to get the 56k a friend of mine out the beach (about 20 miles outside of town) usually gets in the 40+k range all the time.
