Question Line spacing on new posts

I've been using this forum for years, one thing that I cannot understand is the line spacing of a new post.

I put a c/r at the end of the last sentence and another c'r to make a paragraph.

I know wwhen I post this it will be double spaced between paragraphs.
Only one c/r like here it won't space tthis line from the above.
Shift and c/r doesn't do it either.

What's the secret, I'm always posting and then editing to correct it!

You’re supposed to let the forum decide how to flow the text, and only press ENTER (twice) when starting new paragraphs.

I've experienced this sporadically in the past, usually when starting a new thread., seldom when replying to an existing thread.

I just click the "Edit" button and take out the extra lines.

Just a heads up that we have a test thread. You might have to scroll for it, but it’s there and it’s in this subforum (IIRC)

The thread named "test" in the LQ Suggestions & Feedback section is not a test thread, it is badly named, but is exclusively about the LQ CloudFlare filter issue.

There is also no need for a generic test thread - any particular issue should be discussed in its own thread; the "Preview Post" functionality is generally sufficient for testing prior to creating such.

Any discussion of editor functionality should be identifying both where (new thread vs quick reply vs full reply) and which of the three different editor options is in effect.

Strangely the second line in my previous post worked fine, just one c/r. Here goes for two c/rs to ake a new paragraph.

And this is para 2

Are you using the "advanced" rich text editor or the "basic" plain text editor? That probably makes a difference.

You can set the default editor in "Edit Options".
