Less steps to add someone to Ignore list?

Hi!

I have noticed that it takes a couple of clicks to add somebody to the ignore list. When clicking on somebody's name, we have the choice to actually add him/her to the buddy list, but not to the ignore a member. Is it possible to have a similar link or at least change that option to "Add to buddy/ignore list" on the same link?

It has been a while since I last added somebody to my ignore list, but it started to be necessary again and a shorter way of doing so could be handy.

Regards!

Looking at usages, the ignore feature is something that probably should be two clicks away. To justify main real estate, something needs to be fairly important. Thanks for the feedback.

However far you decide that it should be away, I think that it should be the same distance as "remove from ignore list" & "add to buddy list". As long as this site is trying to be inclusive, I think that it is important to allow those of us who are offended by them to quickly & easily deal with trolls & illiterates (my 2 biggest annoyances). For me, there is nothing like not having read their rantings or gibberish to be able to resist the urge to flame their authors in a manner that they would richly deserve in other fora (a la Raymond & Moen). It also helps my blood pressure and, more important to the purposes of the site, puts me in a better frame of mind to try to deal gently (rather than not at all) w/ the next *@#$! I encounter.

If I may extend this discussion, I suggest that in addition to a "View this post" link on individual posts by those on one's ignore list, there should be a complementary "Suppress this post" to remove from sight items that are too:
  • long
  • wide
  • off-topic
  • not worth printing *
  • uncharacteristically rude
Things that interfere w/ answering the Q at hand, but don't deserve a blanket (personal) ban on the poster.

If such a feature is implemented, it would be really nice if it were "sticky" -- i.e. it's still in effect when I return to the thread.

* Edit: added "not worth printing" after reading this

Plus one
It's not even quickly obvious how to do that, one has to look around a bit. It's not intuitive is what the OP is saying.

The other aspect of that, if a user is on the Ignore List, do not not want to be notified that get a response in my thread.
