it would be cool to be able to ignore certain threads

i spend a lot of time in the general forum and it would be nice to be aqble to ignore certain threads. i know i dont have to read them but sometimes i already know whats inside and it gives me some negative energy you know?

any way it may seem minor but with a site as good as this one its hard to find many suggestions for improvement.

Good, Luke, feel your hate grow and move closer to the dark side of the force.

You can always just find the person you want to ignore and add them to your ignore list... That way you don't see what they posts.

I've always wondered - does it filter out their posts, or entire threads that they've been part of? If it just filters their posts, doesn't it get confusing reading people's replies to something you can't read?

NB: I do not have anyone filtered.

It's actually kind of useless. It only filters the contents of their posts and lets you click on a button to see the post you've blocked. But the rest of the post and their name and all shows and they still show up as bumping new threads up and so on. I blocked a troll for awhile who particularly annoyed me and I've blocked two other people at other vBulletin sites but it isn't really worth it. A whole thread or forum filter, just to see what you're interested in would be cool. But I've already suggested that and it died an ignominous death.

Oh, and yeah, you do still see people's replies but you don't what they're replying to and it does get confusing. *g*

Brain Drop,

That is a very interesting idea. It's not something we'll be able to implement in the near future (there is a lot in the queue) but it is certainly something I will keep in the back of my mind. Thanks for the suggestion.
