I guess this is appropriate forum.
I would like to know if www.linuxquestions.org sometimes uses https connections and name based virtual hosting? If so,why?
Thank you.

You can log into https://linuxquestions.org as well as plain http. It's another layer of security and good to use when not on a known good network or a shared pc. It's another choice offered to all members.

Thanks for the answer Xavier, but what I have noticed is that if you click on the link in google which is going to take you to www.linuxquestions.org it takes you there, but sometimes on the http://www.linuxquestions.org and sometimes on the https://www.linuxquestions.org and that is not the same if I log into https://www.linuxquestions.org.
I've been trying to get a little deeper into this delays that I sometimes have here on the LQ,and so far everything was leading me into the DNS direction, but not on my side, that's way asked about virtual hosting because these can be related.
Anyway, https login is a good option for LQ members to be available.

EDIT;I've found a broken link in this google search. The first link in the search.
