Question HCL add motherboard or machine type in case of an IBM?

Hi,

I would like to know how add HCL of my computer.

I have an IBM personal computer 300PL. Machine type : 6862-N4U

Do you want it in IBM category even if it is an intel 440bx/zx/dx chipset type?

I ask that because I have another IBM that is a 6832-40 but I do not know the chipset for now and Linux is not yet installed. But gonna be installed before one week so i could add it to the HCL.

Thanks,

Pascal

You should really install Linux first. The whole purpose of the HCL is to tell others whether or not your hardware components work or not, what you did to get it to work, etc.

And currently we don't have a section for machines as a whole, only laptops since all desktops consist of many different parts that most can buy or obtain separately. Get with the manufacturer and break it down into the different parts, cause some of them could already be in the HCL, like NIC, Modem, Motherboard, cdrom and so on..
