Y’all do know that link doesn’t show on your own posts, right? Nor on the OP...
I can see it on TheEzekielProject’s post as I type...you should be able to see it on this post.
I second TheEzekielProject words. Thank you both! The thread I mentioned originally is indeed one in General forum. I knew we did not have the links on our own posts, though.
The general forum is thought by me as for something that does not fit other fora. And this is *not* necessarily untechnical. I would like to value useful answers there too, the same way I like to value useful answers everywhere else. This is a better way to thank those who answer us the way we imagined, or even better than that, sometimes.

The difficulty arises from the fact, that not even “useful” can be defined in the context of the General forum or, at least, with most of the threads, published there. What is “useful” when you discuss believes and opinions..; I mean, other than “I am sharing your point of view”. A “I am sharing your point of view”-button can be discussed, together with a new statistic on “number of people sharing this point of view, religious conviction, traumatic experience or other”. The value must be displayed somewhere far away from the reputation-points to keep things clear.
Needless to say. I am against such a discussion, -or rather keeping out of it-, as I am for the elimination of all evaluating functionality in the General Forum.

Now... better than saying “this was a great help to me”? So, finally we have arrived at the point, where opinions are exchanged and cannot be evaluated. The world is really big, you know...

The "Rep" link on the left side of the post works in General...
please keep in mind that "General" refers to "Non-NIX => General".
there's also "Linux - General".
I have thought that when I started the thread, but I did not write it. Do you think that is a good change for people who go through this thread in the future? I can edit it.
