"First things"-forum

I was reading Motubs brilliant arguments here in favor of using urpmi and RPMDrake on Mandrake. It is true, that this is a must-have/-think/-realize for Mandrake users. Would you consider a section for tutorials/articles in the form of "I have just installed [distro] for the first time. What should I know/appreciate/be careful with/be aware of?". This brilliant site is a beginners' magnet and rightfully so. This section would also deserve a link in the LQ book, as it was supposed to be beginner-oriented.

I'd say the LinuxAnswers section would be good for this. If it's something many members would be intersted in, we could add a new section.

Look at the top right hand corner of this page. Scroll down a little. You will see a grey box with the heading "Main Menu". In the list you will see a section called "Linux Tutorials". Click it. That is the Linux Answers section.
