Email notifications keep disappearing

Code:
From time to time, the administrators may want to send you email notices.

If you do not want to receive these notices, disable this option.
Receive Email from Administrators
Receive Community Bulletin Newsletters
Receive Zero Reply Email
All of these are checked right now. Over the last three days, I have re-checked these boxes each day. They keep getting switched off. I will receive a few notifications, then nothing. I have no idea why these keep unchecking.

This has been like this for a long while. Just now wondering what to do about it....

mlangdn,

If an email to your address hard bounces, you are automatically unsubscribed from future emails.

Given how often this question comes up, updating the Receive Email description to mention it would seem to be a sensible thing to do.

So, I got this notification, but how do I know if one hard bounces?

I made this reply, then checked again, and now all is unchecked once more.

Since the last time I checked all the boxes again, it finally lost all checkmarks sometime today. I had thought it was gone......
I reckon its not so hard to just check everyday. I don't think there is any way to know on my end when an email sent to me hard bounces.

Where exactly are these checkboxes? I don't see them in my profile.

Once again, email notifications are gone. I unsubscribed from every email subscription except zero reply. I re-entered my email address and saved. Yet each day all boxes are unchecked again. Just now, I unchecked Receive Zero Reply Email. If it unchecks the other two again, that would seem to mean that it is not due to a hard bounce. I'll update each day.

I checked this ip for blocking: 208.101.3.244

That is the ip Jeremy gave me back in November, 2011 that roadrunner was blocking. It is not being blocked now - I checked that. unless something has changed on LQ's end.....

To the OP. I've only had that happen once. gmail must have kicked a mail back.

Mail from LQ to me is from:
Code:
smtp.mailfrom=<big_long_number>@amazonses.com

Return-Path: <big_long_number>@amazonses.com>

Received: from a48-194.smtp-out.amazonses.com (a48-194.smtp-out.amazonses.com. [54.240.48.194])

The response I left yesterday is gone???

The boxes in Options were unchecked again. I had unsubscribed from every thread, and there were over one thousand. This thread was the only one left with a subscription, and only because I had commented. Using the thread tools, I unsubscribed.
Unchecked Receive Zero Reply also. That means I shouldn't get an email, doesn't it? Yet the fields are still cleared.

Quite a bit has changed with the LQ infrastructure since 2011. A reminder that if your email hard bounces, you will be automatically unsubscribed.

My only question is why would an email "hard bounce" if nothing has changed on my end? Google has been no help on why LQ hard bounces my emails.

I can live without email notifications. It's just that they were nice.

Thanks for responding Jeremy. I'll just drop this since I have no idea as to what to do.

mlangdn,

This would be a question for your email provider - it's not LQ bouncing your emails, it's your email provider bouncing emails from LQ.

At the campground just chilling. I'll contact Roadrunner next week. Is this ip for LQ mail still valid?

Got back from my trip today and sent the request to roadrunner to unblock LQ. I sent the request on the original email from 11/17/2011. I knew I saved it, but had trouble remembering which folder. lol!
