Over the last couple of days I've come across a few users with around 1500 posts and guru status. Others with the same number or higher are senior members (as per the rules). Has anything changed in user status assiging or have some users received special merits for one reason or another?
At first, anyone that reached 1,000 posts had the choice to select either Guru or LQ Addict. It has since changed, 1,000 posts makes you a Sr. Member and now 5k posts you have the choice to be a Guru or LQ Addict. All the members who made it to 1,000 post before the changes got to keep what they wanted.
Unfortunately you're absolutely right, but still, for those of us (ahum, ahum, being a bit immodest here) who make an effort to make the best of our posts I do feel it's a bit of a premium to make it to Guru.
there are plenty of debates about titles, i *think* i was the very first guru way back, not sure now, I actually registered to get rid of the title i felt that awkward about it. once i got modded, the lq addict name soon arose, so i was the only guru who couldn't have chosen to be an addict.
you know, you might make effort in some ways, but not in spelling "solution" correctly it seems...
