At every BBS I'm a member at... I have chosen a name which is ".::BeatFactory::." but I was unable to put that many characters when I first registered. I had the same problem at UniteTheCows.com (file-sharing site) and just PM'd an Admin and he changed it no problem.
I tried to find one, but no Admin appeared to be online (no name in bold and italicized) so I tried to PM a moderator (the bold names) and it gave me some page about I don't have permission to or something.
I'm not new to vBulletin or pretty much anything but Can I get my name changed?
Just add a : to each side of my name to become ".::BeatFactory::."
Our site admin is jeremy but be aware that most likely there is a reason that it dissallows the double :: in the names. Not sure or even likely he takes such personal requests. Email him to find out more.
To use PM you have to be a contributing member.
And next time a request should be made in the Website Questions and Suggestions forum.
So is there a post count I must reach first in order to PM or is it decided based on the quality (not quantity) then decided by someone higher up like a mod?
I just noticed you are from Austin... I live in Taylor which is 15 minutes east of Round Rock or about 35 minutes away from Austin.
EDIT: There is no particular reason vBulletin disallows two ::'s because it doesn't. Other sites allow it (ZeroPaid.com, UniteTheCows.com, etc.). The only reason I couldn't fit it is because there is some character limit (15 char's) I believe when you first register.
. : B e a t F a c t o r y : . = 15 characters
. : : B e a t F a c t o r y : : . = 17 characters

Its not up to VBulletin, its up to the Admin most likely in the rules he setup. So most likely you'll have to live with just one : on each side of your name as he has created this rule to eliminate members from making long usernames.
