Browsing the forum over Tor becomes awful randomly

Randomly the tabs loading single forum threads go to an endless loop that can last for minutes, while displaying that dreaded Cloudflare page. Perhaps there's some website/forum setting that can be tuned? This happens when browsing over Tor with Tor Browser and after I am logged into the forum, so I imagine it's unlikely to be Cloudflare triggering some protection due to an eventual rogue exit node? Since it keeps telling it's redirecting rather than it is blocking me. As I said above, at this point I am already logged, so the forum knows for sure it's a legit user.

I'm not surprised. Cloudflare doesn't like things. You can't even post something in code tags sometimes. I can see where they would look for TOR.

I don't think that it matters. They are running checks on posts and page loads.

Cloudflare is basically out of LQ's reach.
Of course it would be in jeremy's power to do something about it, but he hasn't even commented on the flood of recent complaints.

They check IP's - and if your currently used TOR exit node is on some blacklist, bam, you're out. Doesn't matter if you're logged in.
The Tor Browser Bundle is also set up to periodically and automatically change the onion route iirc.

My experience with other sites was that they sometimes work through TOR, sometimes not. Have to try and try again until you hit an exit node that is not (yet) blacklisted.
Blame it on people who (ab)use TOR for nefarious purposes, like trolling until their IP (in this case the exit node) gets blocked and added to some blocklist.

And recently we found out that cloudflare also scans the content of data submitted, and applies a ridiculous level of "better safe than sorry" to block "suspicious" content.

Sites poisoned by Cloudflare react differently. Sometimes, a captcha is displayed. Sometimes, a ban message is displayed, that's related to a particular exit node triggering some heuristics. This random endless redirect situation is unique, to me at least. LQ is the only site that behaves like this. So if there's the slightest chance that it might be due to some obscure Cloudflare setting for this site, I posted hoping that this will draw some additional attention upon it. Btw, while browsing LQ in read-only guest mode (without being logged), I've never saw the endless loop happening when opening a topic. I did it a couple of times for like an hour, for testing purposes, but of course this implies no conclusion, since I spent much more time logged.

I think enough time has passed that the thread bump won't be considered spam.

Hello mods and admins, the site user experience over Tor is still miserable because of CloudFlare. Please do something about it. Can't leave the forum, since it's the official place where my Linux distro of choice has its official forum, don't make me escalate it there.
