That's the initial list. All feedback and suggestions are encouraged, especially for new/changed categories.

Privacy Solution of the Year might be too all-encompassing. Perhaps split off Encryption Application of the Year and add applications such as dm-crypt, AES Crypt, Cryptomator to it?

While the categories for this year are finalized, we'll consider a change for that category next year (I'd agree it contains too many dissimilar projects). You may want to post to http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...es-4175594594/ to ensure the feedback is gets noticed next year.

How about best live distro running live from a usb stick. (This may be the future for users?)
Also, best distro on an old box with 1GB RAM or less (for example).
Last one - IIRC - windows manager category last year did not include those used in the desktop environment such as kwin,
xfwm4 etc. Can we do that again this year?

Many thanks.

Once again, the list of categories has been finalized for 2016. There is a thread dedicated to category feedback which is linked to a couple posts back.

EDIT: Good catch. Compiz, KWin, Marco, Muffin, Mutter and xfwm4 should not have been included and have been removed.

Is Lumina considered a window manager or desktop environment?
