Linux Architect

I am seeking an experienced Linux Architect to help a large government agency begin deploying technology solutions to over 100 field offices located in Texas using Linux Thin Client technology. The Linux Architect would be responsible for developing over all plan, technology architecture, consult with development team for deployment of application and implement solutions. Client is seeking to make available access to mainframe applications, open source productivity tools and Internet using this technology.

This is not an administrators position, but more a ground up establishment of a large scale Linux shop. It is a long term position.

The client is located north of the Woodlands Texas. Please contact me at 512.236.8535 or mariano@alliedconsultants.com

You'll generally find that the sort of person who can design this will be project oriented, not looking for long term. It may be worth asking for a project resource then transitioning to a permanent admin towards the end of the project.

I can help out in any way that I can. Sounds interesting. I'm on my way to doing that anyways but it will take some time.
