fdisked my entire harddrive and loaded on gentoo...trial by fire i suppose its called 2 days later i am getting there Its my main machine so i have no choice but to fix all problems now.

And it's not luck really, I've been Windows free for over 2 years now... got rid of the one dual boot I kept around for Photoshop for good after winging myself to only use The Gimp.
