Long time Slacker, first time caller
Hi y'all,
Been messing with Slackware since the darkstar days but never involved myself in the online community. Just started an IT degree and figured I'll be asking a lot of questions, so here I am.
*nix-wise, I also use Debian and to a lesser extent OpenBSD. I've also got an old Dell laptop running XP that I use to play classic PC games at the lowest possible graphics settings -- right now it's Deus Ex, Jedi Knight and Commandos.
I'm in Western Massachusetts, if there're any local Slackware or classic gaming meetups(?).
A web search turned up a number of LUGs in eastern Mass and a BSD group in Amherst, but no LUGs in western Mass. That doesn't mean there aren't any; the google-fu is not strong in me tonight.
There is the Linux Lugcast, an online LUG that meets via Mumble and was specifically conceived for persons who don't have LUGs in their area. I know that they would welcome your participation. (They podcast all their meetings and I catch them in my podcatcher. They also have an IRC channel on Freenode.)
