Wireless Connection Constantly Dropping and Reconnecting

I have had a problem with my wirelss connection dropping and reconnecting instantly ever since installing MINT. Ive tried Mint 6, 7, 64bit, KDE etc and only the Gnome versions seem to have this problem.

I was recomended to install WICD instead of the default Network manager but it did no help at all.

I am using the following:

I am also currently running the default wireless driver that is installed automatically. Which is the STA driver for Broadcom, ive also heard it refereed to as the wl driver.

I have been given instructions to intsall the b43 driver but have never had any success when doing so. i read on their site that the ndraft properties of the card are not supported. I do not know if this makes the whole card not workable but Ive had no luck.

Could somebody please help me to install the b43 or provide me with info to fixing this issue.

I hate windows but unfortunately nobody can deny the importance of internet access in todays world.

I can no longer put up with this irritating issue and am ready to go back to windows if I cannot fix this soon.

Any help would be great.

Yes it is surely a driver module problem and you should get advice from somebody using the same wificard with MINT (or some else .deb dist). Use also lsmod etc. -- good luck!

P.S. See http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...reless-744555/ for another example how things may be weird ...
