SUSE 9.1 Personal, Can't Network with WinXP Computer

I have a 2Wire 1700HW Modem provided by Bellsouth.net connected to my SUSE Linux computer via ethernet and a 2Wire wireless USB adapter connected to a Windows XP computer in the room across the hall (about 20 feet away).

I don't know how to get the local network working. The Internet works fine, but I don't know how to setup file and printer sharing between the two computers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a router somewhere in this setup? I am assuming you have a wifi router or Access Point and both pc's have and internet connection. If this is true you need to look into setting up samba on your suse machine. If I am making a bad assumption then please explain your network further.

The modem has a router built-in to it.
