Yea hi, i would really appriciate some help with this. I just bought a brand new Orinoco gold card. Its a proxim 8420-WD and when i pop it in, it says its unsupported. So i decided to do some research..... I read that my card is unsupported. So i was wondering if there was anyway that i can get it working, or did i just waste $70??


P.S. im running slackware 9.0

That link seems to be dead, it seems to me like there is a common group of people that have this card that need to find some answers about how to get it working completely. I wonder if anyone in here can tell me how to get mine working with suse 9.0 , Ive viewed all the threads and tried all the different drivers including agere's and nothing seems to want to work. The agere driver might work but it wont install for some reason I keep getting this when I try to install it

Error: Run 'make config' first!

linux gbb123/agere# make config
make: *** No rule to make target `config'. Stop.


Maybe if I post this in all the threads about this card I will find the answer

The link's not dead, just sleeping, the guy got a 8621 to work, not the 8620.
