madwifi on Mandriva 2005LE

OK... I have this strange problem.

I have installed madwifi with the Netgear WGT511T(Atheros drivers) and it went well until I tried to get an IP. I aquire IP, netmask and 3 dns servers but no gateway. The essid is the same as the accesspoint. No problem there.

I reinstalled Mandriva, updated the system. Installed the kernel. Downloaded latest madwifi, compiled and installed. I got the card up(no encryption) but it doesn't work. If I have had the possibility to set an static IP, I would have.

Does anyone else recognize this problem?

Sorry for my bad english. I'M A SWEDE EVERYONE!

I loaded a MadWiFi driver on 2005 LE for my wireless (DWL-510 chipset on a D-Link wireless card), After following the instructions for building it and using modprobe it worked fine.
I'm just guessing here, but have you made sure that the dhcp client software was installed? It it not installed by default on Mandriva Distros.

Could that be the problem?

If that's the case, then dhclient or dhcpcd should work fine. Both are included on the installation disks.

Good luck!

I've tried both of them... Same problem.

Also... when I look at Networkstatus, it says that the ath0 is up but not connected.
Noticed another problem. The signal says 0%. But I get an IP and my
IP-request is seen by the ISP( I work there myself so I know.)

Gonna post "iwconfig" and "ifconfig".

Still looking to solve this problem...
