Debian Sarge 2.6.8 with
MA111 NETGEAR USB Adapter
well Im having a bit of trouble, with building the drivers. I thought that after I APT-GET "linux-wlan-ng" I had the drivers and i could restart, but i guess im wrong there. like the readme says the "linux-wlan-ng is nothing without the kernel drivers, so you must build your own (seeing as how i couldnt apt-get one for kernel 2.6.8). So I am following this guide online here at linuxquestions.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...icle&artid=239
It told me I needed to have my kernel sources so
I apt-get install'ed:
kernel-headers-2.6.8-386
kernel-source-2.6.8
kernel-tree-2.6.8
So when thats done I start on the "make config", But when ever I do the "make config" for
linux-wlan-ngand fill in the part where my kernel sources should be, i type "/usr/src/" because in that folder I have kernel-headers, kernel-patches, kernel-source, kernel-kbuild
However, the "make config" fails saying that "Linux source tree /usr/src/ is imcomplete or missing!
What do I do? I know I have apt-get install'ed kernel-tree-2.6.8
And if I type in "/usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.8" then it says: "The kernel header files are present, but not the full source code." But I know I apt-get installed the kernel-source-2.6.8 and gunzipped it.
