Having trouble installing ndiswrapper 1.49 on ubuntu 7.04

Like the subject says, I'm having trouble installing ndiswrapper 1.49 on Ubuntu 7.04.

So far, I've been able to unpack it and run make distclean. But when I try to run make, I get error messages up the wazoo. All of them are along the lines of "'(whatever)' undeclared (first use in this function)". Am I doing something wrong?

One usually runs ./configure before a make to set up the make environment and verify that the make pre-conditions are met. Did you do this step? If so, did you resolve any error messages?

Use Synaptic to install NDISwrapper from the Universe repository.

Actually, I found out that the problem was that I didn't have the proper compilers installed. Boy, do I feel silly about it. Thanks anyway for your help.
