Zones vs VirtualBox

Hi...

Supposing I wish to run a guest OS over Solaris (Open Solaris )

What would be the best trade off in terms of performance overhead / guest compatibility...?

Can I run windows in a Zone...?

Won't a Virtual machine of VirtualBox be overkill to run a few W$ only application in Solaris..? can't this be dealt with in a zone...?

BRgds

Alex

You can't run Windows in a Solaris zone. Zones are not like VirtualBox or VMWare images. They're copies of the global zone (host machine) that you can then pretend are separate Solaris installs. Use VirtualBox.
