Read only file system problem

After creating root file system in image file, when booted with custom kernel using QEMU, guest OS Ubuntu 15.04 does not allow to create any file.

Welcome to Linux Questions?

Is the image writable? ( ls -l fileimage ).

Is the guest OS root filesystem mounted read only?

You have to do little research on your system and provide more info before others can help.

You posted this. But the images show root fs readonly mounted. See this line:

Code:
/dev/sda on / type ext4 (ro,relatime,data=ordered)
In this 'ro' means read only.

So you have to find out why it is mounted read only and correct it.

For a temporary solution just run:

Code:
mount -t ext4 -o remount,rw /dev/sda /
Your root fs may have an entry in /etc/fstab. If it has then correct it. Otherhand the initramfs may have mounted root fs readonly.

As you said I added the entry in /etc/fstab which was initially empty. Now its ok. Thank you so much
