Need good newbie XEN-tutorial

Hi !

Has someone come across a good newbie XEN-tutorial that explains how to get along with XEN-virtualization ?

I always use VirtualBox for virtualisation. Think it works fine. But I'm very curious for how XEN works and what it can offer me other than VirtualBox.

What I think I know about XEN :
- it's some kind of kernel-version that you can load
- ...

Yep that's about it.

Don't know of it has a GUI-interface like VirtualBox to create VM's.
Don't know if it has commandline-utils to create & edit VM's (like VirtualBox)
Don't know how to get Xen and how to install this Xen-kernel...

So, some good hands-on step-by-step beginners-tutorial sounds a good place to start answering my questions.

howtoforge.com has quite a few nice articles, but really, if you're getting into proper virtualization, why Xen? Learn KVM - it is the future, and it doesn't require a special kernel. All you need is hardware that supports VT/AMD-V

Why is KVM the future ? All the hosting companies offer XEN- or Parallels-solutions.

1. KVM doesn't require a specific kernel it's a kernel module, native to linux, unlike Xen
2. Red Hat, the main maintainer of a serious load of Linux packages is moving onto KVM, in their RHEV product
3. The stable Xen packages are still for 2.6.18.x kernel, and if RHT switched to another technology, guess what will happen next
4. Hosting companies are using whatever is available to them right now. As soon as KVM is spread, they will slowly switch over. I know of several who already have.
