kvm - how to enable promiscuous mode?

Hi all,

Earlier I was using VirtualBox and since there is a option to set nic in promiscuous mode, I was enable to capture packets in wireshark of other VMs in the same subnet.

But I don't see any option of setting promiscuous mode in kvm virtual machines. So Kali linux installed as guest is not able to capture packets of other guest in the same subnet.

I also tried this in kali linux guest:

Code:
$ sudo ifconfig eth0 promisc

$ netstat -i
Kernel Interface table
Iface   MTU Met   RX-OK RX-ERR RX-DRP RX-OVR    TX-OK TX-ERR TX-DRP TX-OVR Flg
eth0       1500 0    245387      0      8 0        206437      0      0      0 BMPRU
lo        65536 0    162560      0      0 0        162560      0      0      0 LRU
Please somebody tell me how to set promiscuous mode in kvm guest.

Thanks

Shouldn't the hypervisor first have its Ethernet devices configured for promiscuous mode before you try the client?
